
Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) don come out tok say dem no get any plan to sell the Port Harcourt Refining Company. Instead, dem still dey committed to repair the refinery and keep am under government hand.
Di Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Mr. Bashir Ojulari, clear di air during one town hall meeting wey happen for NNPC Towers, Abuja, on Tuesday.
Ojulari talk say some media people twist wetin he yarn for di OPEC Seminar wey happen for Vienna earlier this year. He say when he talk say “all options dey on table,” e no mean say dem wan sell the refinery. Na people just carry the talk waka another direction.
He explain say dem still dey do technical and money review for Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and Warri refineries to sabi the best way to fix dem well. Dem find out say the plan wey dem first get to start Port Harcourt refinery before full repair no make sense and no go bring better money.
“We no dey sell anything. If we sell, e go make us lose value, and we no fit afford that one,” Ojulari yarn.
For the same town hall, other departments for NNPC like Upstream, Downstream, Finance, Gas, Power, and New Energy give update on how their work dey go — wetin don improve and areas wey still need ginger.
NNPC still tok say this move show say dem still dey serious to protect Nigeria energy assets and follow di Federal Government energy plan wey no support say make we sell important national property.
Ojulari promise say NNPC go still focus to be better company wey dey transparent, business-wise, and dey deliver better service for Nigerians.
He also talk say many NNPC staff dey happy with the direction wey di company dey go, and dem describe am as “encouraging” and “change wey make sense.”
“We no go shake for our work. Na Nigerians be our number one priority,” Ojulari add.
