Lagos Government Don Warn Event Centres Say Make Dem Stop to Block Road

Lagos State Govment don give strong warning to event centres, clubs and social venues wey dey block public roads during party or celebration. This one come from the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, wey issue the statement on Sunday after him go check some traffic-prone areas for Lagos.

He say e don turn bad habit for some people to dey use main road for private event, and this kind thing dey cause heavy go-slow and fit stop ambulance or fire truck from pass. Bakare-Oki talk say no person or organisation, no matter who dem be, get right to use public road as event venue or parking space.

The LASTMA boss come talk say anybody wey dem catch for this kind action go face fine, court matter or even shutdown, depending on how serious the case be. He say the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu no go fold hand watch people turn Lagos roads to personal space. He warn say the govment go begin take strong action against anybody or organisation wey block access roads because of event. According to am, the matter don pass be careful and e dey bring unnecessary suffering to innocent road users.

Bakare-Oki come order all LASTMA units make dem increase patrol especially on weekends and during festive period when parties plenty. He say dem go also gather information well well to know the areas wey dey always get this kind wahala so dem fit respond faster. He advise venue owners say make dem plan well and work with LASTMA ahead of any big event, or make dem hire certified traffic people wey sabi manage car movement. He say people must stop to use roadside as overflow or parking because Lagos road no be for private business.
